voice artist, speaker and podcaster
I visited Michelle in Leipzig in the beginning of November and we set up a recording scene together in her apartment. Michelle is now working as a freelance voice artist, speaker and podcaster and just finished her studies in speech science. The German name "Sprechwissenschaften", often confused with "Sprachwissenschaften" (which is linguistic) entails various methods, techniques and definitions of speaking and the use of one's voice.
While she sets up the microphone, she says that the two most important things for successful voice recording (except a quiet room and a good mic) are concentration and not letting yourself be stressed by any kind of time pressure. Written notes and warm-up exercises are also part of the recording process.
A big fan of podcasts, theatre and tv shows herself, Michelle works for various platforms and media such as radio stations, podcasts, commercials and artistic projects like art exibitions, computer games, info videos and much more. Generally, it is important for her not to entertain but to support a social cause as well.
